RE: Getting more users
I actually did a twitter and Facebook post with the ff6hacking.com account concerning the SaGa Frontier Data & Modification Hub but we have respectively 100 and 200 followers there. I could make a forum post on ff6hacking.com and redo a twitter and Facebook call. I can also put the Hub on our ROM hacking links page.

There are a few ROM hacking wikis and places like RHDN where you could submit the forum link as well..

There is no magic trick. We are a forum dedicated to the most documented and popular RPG on the SNES and forum activity is not very high. Slick Forum who deal as well with FF6 but also with FF4 and FF5 suffer a bit of the same thing though the FF4 community is active.

RE: Getting more users
I've tried reaching out several forums including Romhacking, qhimm, and Gamefaqs. There was very little to no interest at all for this. I haven't tried the FF6 forums or the FFTactics, but seems like attention is being drawn slowly from other places (Madsiur, Abyssionm).

Two people we can collaborate with is with Sevon and Perin. With Sevon, we can have him bring his SaGa frontier Essence translation over to this forum from Gamefaqs. Perin used to dig into the data himself but may have moved on to other stuff. The other thing to do would be to open a Discord for Saga Frontier.

RE: Getting more users
I think Abysonnym got the news from my tweet because he retweeted it. I made this today, hopefully it will get to a few interested people eventually: https://www.ff6hacking.com/forums/showth...p?tid=3498

On my side I'm too involved with other projects to actively work on the hacking side of SF and learn PSX hacking but I can do things that can help the scene or grow this place, even if it's a modest contribution.

Making a post on Slick Forums wouldn't hurt either but it's not a guarantee of future activity.

I like the Discord idea though. The ff6hacking one did not bring (yet) new active hackers on the forum but it does keep our small community tied and brought new people that enjoy FF6 or mods in general. With a focus on SF but opened to general PSX hacking or other ROM hacking it could gain activity.

Edit: I added the Hub URL to ff6hacking.com footer that is shown on every page along with our affiliates and other hacking sites.

RE: Getting more users
The Saga Frontier Mods & Hacking server on Discord has been created and should be online. Hopefully this helps people get on it and be active. It's all empty right now but as time goes threads and channels will be created.

RE: Getting more users
I wish I could get more users but all I seem to get are spambots. LOL Hopefully doing what you all are doing above will bring in some traffic.

RE: Getting more users
Is there any way that you can add a note on the main forum page giving short description about what goes on in this section of your site, including the modding forums? Maybe under the "JCE3000GT Forums" word. When you search in Google for hacking resources for this game, this forum comes up after several search pages. Maybe in doing this the forum will pop up much sooner.

RE: Getting more users
Need to do some SEO when you redesign the front page. Even just metadata in the header.

Metadata in the forum header does the trick for this kind of stuff. There is a header template in the template group of the default theme. I actually pretty much copied what RHDN did for matadata by looking at their HTML in a browser.

There is also SEO friendly page URL for myBB. The .htaccess file included convert the thread URL into "thread-title.html" which is better for google search results. It's a matter of having the good .htaccess file (included with myBB) and enabling the option in admin CP.

Finally I'd suggest that if you want a private forum to set people able to access it part of a usergroup that don't show in the user title and hide the forum and deny access for those not part of this group. It's better than showing a "private" forum publicly. We do this for our admin forum at ff6hacking.com. You can even in this case keep the password feature but at that point it's like a door requiring a key and fingerprint scanner lol
