Calling all PHP coders, I need a custom forum theme for this place!
I mentioned this to someone via PM but I know they are super busy so I'd love to see if anyone here could code a custom theme for the forum. I have a very specific style I'd like to use. Any takers?

It will have some similarities to this forum but will be different enough as to not straight-up copy it. LOL

Links to the version/type of PHP used by this forum software, and guides on that version/type?

MyBB 1.8.X. It runs on PHP 5.6 and below. The HTML template system make PHP knowledge optional to create a theme unless you dive in custom functionalities, but then it's not only a theme anymore. CSS and HTML is all that is required to play in templates, le little Javascript contained there should be left intact. For custom functionalities there is a hook system letting you create PHP plugins independant of the core.

Documentation; https://docs.mybb.com

They also have a support forum.

There are free themes available (which you could modify as well) but none has a retrogaming feel:

Sorry been out of cell phone range for days... The desert sucks for cell service.

I'd love a Final Fantasy 4 type theme sort of like my main site including the darkened crystal floor I use as the background. I'll be back home sometime around July 4 and can discuss the options then if that's all right? Grin

I'm not that good at creative art/design. I can totally do HTML5 and CSS3 stuff - I just redesigned my resume using them - so slap some crap together with GIMP and judicious use of the ScreenCap key and I'll make it happen. Provide the art assets too, of course.

I'll make a repo for them in my bitbucket once I know exactly what you want.

Ok cool. I'll send over the graphics that I have for my main site. It'll be a few days, being off two weeks is put me behind on everything. LOL

If you have any websites whose design you like, post them too. Even something small like the layout of a sidebar.

Ok, let me see what I can come up with in the next few days after I've caught up on work and stuff at home.

If MysticLord can't do this anymore because of his OS situation, I can do the theme but I will leave the choice up to MysticLord to decide if he wants to put this on ice, abandon it or keep the project..

I had no idea MysticLord had an OS issue. I haven't got a chance to sit down at my computer at home and send the images yet. I can do that later today but let me know the status. I know personal stuff comes before projects so I understand if it is put on ice. Thumbs Up

I'm severely overloaded but would have done it on a moderate time length if nobody would do it. I'm postponing stuff for our FF6 forum and personal projects lag a lot so I'm not currently a poacher :P

This can be super low priority if you all have other stuff to take care of. It isn't like the forum is broken so the theme and stuff can wait. Grin

Post what you want, maybe someone will pop out of the woodwork and do it. If it's just html/css it should be easy.
