Mystic Quest ROM map
Hi, I am searching for a ROM map for Mystic Quest. I downloaded the editor tool for Mystic Quest. I wanted to rebalance the whole game to make it more interesting. Harder, but mainly give the player more interesting choices. Simply making the monsters stronger won't solve the problems of the game being to simple. When there are stronger monsters, I also need to give the player ways to make up for that by using the right strategy, not by grinding for xp. (Mainly I want to add more variety in monster stats. Monsters of one area always have similar amounts of HP)

One thing that is important to me is to change the maximum amount of potions you can carry at a time. If you buy 99 ether you can just use magic all the time, I don't want that to be possible. I want the player to manage his ressources, instead of farming for items. I think the game experience would be much better with a limit of 5 cure potions, 3 healing and refresh potions and maybe 2 ether. Or 3 of every potion if they can't be changed individually. (Also change prices for potions when buying them?)

Another thing is damage of spells from the player. You can change monster abilities, but not the one of the player. I want the weaker spells like earthquake to be useful in the late game. I would also like to change the enemies spell/weapon resistances.

An XP curve (How much xp you need for each level) for the player would be cool, too.

So does anybody know where I can change any of that or other things that are not supported in the editor?

Thanks. So far I found the Bytes for enemies being strong/or weak to a certain element and how they work. (Apperently there is no thunder element, but an enemy is strong against thunder when he is strong against water and wind) And where I can change enemy encounters on the map.

But both things I only found because the Bytes are close to other Bytes that are changed by your program. I just looked what the editor changes and looked for patterns in nearby Bytes. I am not a hacker and actually don't know how you find stuff usually.

So your help is appreciated!

I didn't find that data in my project folder. I need to check through my CDR backups. Will update this topic if I find anything.
