SaGa Frontier Game Data and Resources
The following links have been compiled from several resources. Mainly from Google Searches and from information in the GameFaqs Saga Frontier Board.

RE: SaGa Frontier Game Data and Resources
This is awesome to see so much data on SaGa Frontier. I wonder if anyone is working on Romancing SaGa for the PS2?

Almost none of the biolab links work.

RE: SaGa Frontier Game Data and Resources
Is this REICHU person still available/active? Seems like she helped Mr. Vimes greatly in the past with figuring out monster sprites and reconstructing them. He/She would be a great asset if that data could be recovered.

RE: SaGa Frontier Game Data and Resources
Not really a big deal, constructing sprites is just a matter of lining up the image bytes and figuring out how many bits the palette uses per pixel. All that information is in that thread. Once I have disc image i/o working and simple editors I'll have to implement an image editor module to work with the scripting resources.

There are plenty of resources for PS1 image formats. Just be glad ours aren't compressed.

First great job regrouping these informations!

What strikes me is that all the forum / subforum link work but none of the thread link. It is possible this phpBB board was using SEO/SEF friendly URLs. It happened to me once with a myBB forum I was looking up on archive.org, the forum was generating search engine friendly html pages instead of php ones. It would explain why 0 thread is archived with the thread link default format and all forums link work.

Basically, the phpBB URL viewtopic.php?f=fid&t=tid could have been turned into an search engine friendly html page, such as viewtopic.php?thread_name-fid-tid.html.

As an example, viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23 ("General Hacking Guide" thread) would be viewtopic.php?general_hacking_guide-3-23.html. Not all paid / open source SEO modules use the same format so it might be a real puzzle to figure out what was used. I've tried this specific example but no luck..

I'm not familar with phpBB SEO paid or open source module but it worth a search to see what was commonly used in the time the forum was up. This or contacting Mr.Vines for a database copy!

RE: SaGa Frontier Game Data and Resources
Shouldn't be that hard, with a little awareness of what's going on, to deal with this if the normal URLs are available anywhere on the subforum indices.

EDIT

https://www.phpbb.com/community/index.php

Seems to be the place to ask.

RE: SaGa Frontier Game Data and Resources
I was able to get the list of all urls saved: https://web-beta.archive.org/web/*/http:...news.com/*

You can filter the list by MIME type (e.g. "text").

There are a few working threads links (about a dozen) but it seems most of the forum is lost forever :/

Well as long as this time it all gets archived! I backup my database about every quarter but maybe I'll do it every month. What do you think?

You can set up automatic DB backups every day in MyBB admin panel that are saved on the server. You just click on the most recent one and download it every week or so.
